White Pawns

This began as a doodle, turning into a concept, perhaps for my artbook. What if each game of Chess started lives and deaths of the pawns all over again? What it two of them were bound to protect one another, but fall in love and die for each other every time? The Hunter would wear its dearest Rooks severed hair as a token of their bond, and the only piece remembering each game were the white Queen?
